I'm currently gathering ideas, writing scripts and doing location search for our next project(s).

Well, I'm one busy MF at the moment. Currently doing post-prod on 20 mins horror/action/comedy/weird shit, "Night of the Living Kevs", which after more than two years, will finally be finished in the next couple of weeks.

I'm also assisting a friend in two episodes of a spoof documentary series, entitled "Myths & Legends", in acting and editing capacities.

I have Super8 short, No Picnic, sitting around awaiting rudimentary telecine and editing.

Then in three weeks, I'm off to Shropshire to assist on the another friend's off-beat take on Shakespeare's "Henry V". Should be fun.

I've also got about five writing projects on the go, too.

So, yeah, I'm kinda busy...

Circusfilms are currently in the process of auditioning for our new feature Deadbeat. When I say auditioning I mean we are calling everyone and anyone to see if they will be in our feature length blockbuster. Its about clowns who turn into zombies.Is anyone remotely interested?

Awaiting feedback from last years DV short "In the Jeans" from York Film Fest.

I'm hopefully finding out in the next week whether the shoot for my newest short script "Black and Blue" is actually going ahead in Boston Massachusetts in July. If it is then they (World Media Arts. Inc (prod co)) will be flying me out for the shoot.

Damn financers pissing about though...ARSEHOLES!!!

It's a 15 minute short about a successful businessman who is trying, yet failing, to kill himself as a result of being the victim of domestic violence from his wife.

At the moment we are only 75% sure that it will go ahead. Hopefully shooting on HD using Sony 900 thingy.

I'm trying to adapt my feature script "Problem Solved" (that title has to change) for a US audience after some great feedback out there.
Have been offered a co-writing job on an already written feature called "My Deposition" which is already penned in for production in New Mexico later this year. They just want me to polish it.

Also working on a 90 second short for the www.depict.org website competition, this will be my first time as a director!!

Oh and I'm writing a beat sheet for the treatment for "Being Jack" a WW2 Romance/Drama (think Angelas Ashes meets English Patient) which is a story based on the exploits of a British Army explosives expert being captured in France and falling in love with a Nazi chick.

Oh... revising for my next Psychiatric Nursing exam (back to the real world)

that vagina monologue was definetely too long. But you still could have it though, but you'll need to cut it all out. But the problem is that you keep repeating the same thing for (what might be) a few minutes. And repeating the same things in dialogue, that's a nono. The monologue is clearly too well made and thought of in advance. Don't know what the characters is supposed to be or say at that moment, but out of contexts is sounds pretty ueseless. Whats the point of that monologue? A good monologue has development while the monologue is 'playing'. The character finds out things about herself while she's talking, and in the end of the monologue there might be a whole different outcome than was the first intention. The monologue is like a journey into the unkown of themselves.

fwiw I think your 'Vagina Monologue' is great! Hard (impossible?) to judge out of context, but its clearly a completely over the top joke. Deeply offensive - but it looks like its delivered by an offensive bloke...????? Who has maybe rehearsed it before hand, quietly itching for the chance to say it..???
Its evidently not Hamlet you've written.

Offending people can be good and bad I suppose, at least it might make it stand out from all the other low budget films around.

Anyway, best of luck with it, whichever way it goes.

part of the idea, the challenge if you will, was for me to direct that and make it engaging. I know instinct says it's too long, that the joke is stretched beyond the three second attention span. i expect it would've been shot in smaller segments, each segment closer on the face until, there she is, ECU on mouth, pining for a real vagina.

it was also intented as a marketing ploy: "hey, have you seen that film where the transexual spouts all those euphemisms for vagina?"

but it was also a marketing ploy to drop it. it's not my intention to alienate my audience (or the actors for that matter). about 80% of those surveyed dislike it, men and women alike.

Wow! haven't posted here in a while, but I;m glad to see people are coming back!

I'm currently shooting a 15 minute short film called Cold-line, in aberystwyth, wales.

Also lining up a suoper-8 based project about a reculsive man who lives in an abondoned school house. He used to be the caretaker, but due to an acciden all the kids died in a fire. He spends the restof his days in sorrow.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the cheapest place/prices for 8mm&gt;miniDV conversion?

writing ...and writing and writing and writing a documentary in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Been doing that about 3 months now. It's coming along quite well, I think... Besides that I'm just dancing tango, having fun and waiting for my money to run out... After it does, I have to go back to Finland and start looking for the money for the documentary. (and start looking for a job again. Left everything when I came here. Quit my job and stuf :-)) I'm also writing short stories and other documentaries. I stand in 5 scethes at the moment. I have to have something to film in Finland if I ever go back there. Most of them are gonna be super-8 projects and I've been thinking of posting some here for you guys to read... Just wait for a while until I get them "polished".
